This series outlines the various inconveniences caused by China's adherence to a zero-COVID policy in the post-pandemic era. All of these factors intertwine to form what people now call the "new normal" in this new age.

People have mixed opinions on this policy, and it is difficult to judge whether it is good or bad. But the only certain thing is that health codes, travel codes, social distance, nucleic acid testing, and frequent small-scale lockdowns, all of these little things constitute the new normal in the post-epidemic era.

Under the influence of the zero-covid policy, various passes, cards proof you’ve taken the nucleic acid test, health QR codes (green codes) and travel codes have become must-haves for people to travel. You need to show these things to enter and exit any public place. Without them, you may be unable to anywhere, you even need them to take public transportation.
Especially in 2022, this is the year when the zero-covid policy has almost madly affected people's daily lives. The health QR code page has been added with the results of nucleic acid tests, and the conditions for entering and exiting public places have become green codes plus 24-hour or 48-hour nucleic acid test results. This also means that in 2022, nucleic acid testing has become a daily routine for almost everyone.

The bulletin board in the arrival area of ​​Wuhan Railway Station is filled with lists of medium/high-risk areas (places where COVID-19 cases have recently occurred). All passengers will be checked one by one to see if they have been to the above areas in their travel history. If they have, they will be taken into quarantine.

The Things We Do
COVID-19 reshaped our lives. It seems like we will make it no matter what we sacrifice for that. The endless PCR tests can be asked at any time, even late at night. A dedicated person will throw the rubbish for people in quarantine, showing your health code once and once again repeatedly, and the first thing to do when you arrive at the train station is to do the PCR test, etc.

What will you need to do when you arrive at the Wuhan Railway station?
First, you will check your travel log code and health code to see if they are all green-coloured. Congratulations, you passed the first step.
Next, you'll need to take a little green card to wait in the queue for the PCR test, but you are from a low-risk area, so you can do the mix test. It means your sample will be mixed with others and then sent to test.
